I love to cook. I cook a lot....just about every night. This was a new recipe for me. My family loved it!!!! I followed it exactly and everything came out wonderful. I made extra so I could put in it my son (14 and husand's lunch the next day. When I mentioned that they would be eating this again tomorrow in their lunch, they both shouted "YES". The malt vinegar is a must, don't leave it out. Did I mention that I love to cook?

I haven't made this recipe yet but I heard Tyler on TV yesterday doing this show and he said that in England they use cornflour (aka cornstarch here I think but then proceeded to use rice flour. I wonder if anyone has used American
    cornstarch with success.

My husband says this is just like the fish and chips he had growing up in England. I could not find rice flour so I used all-purpose flour. I could not put all the chips and fish in the pot together. I cooked the chips first, then kept them warm in a 200 degree oven. They lost some of their crispness but my husband says that is the way they are served in England. I will definitely make these again...even my kids loved them!

Made this tonight and it is now in my regular rotation. You cannot go wrong with this recipe. My son and I loved it. The only thing I did diff was I used beer instead of the soda water.. Excellent!!!!

My husband loves fish and chips. I have tried quite a few recipes trying to make a perfect version of the meal. Tyler Florence has made the best version I have ever cooked. I have to say though, after searching 4 different stores for rice flour I gave up and used whole wheat flour. This recipe is a winner!

Good english fish and chips, they dont use rice flour. That will make thick batter. If the batter is right it will stich with fish.

Finally fish & chips that my husband loves. After tasting these fish & chips, my Kiwi husband voted them as good as those from back home in Greymouth New Zealand. Thank you Tyler for making my husband very happy.
