Love this salad! I make it with Spring Mix & Baby Spinach, add green apple slices and dried cranberries ~ it's delicious! So, I guess it's not completely this salad!

I agree with Nicki - incredible mistakes on this recipe and many others, not just Tyler but Bobby and everyone. Is FN blind or just don't care about us. I also copy from the TV, ( I have DVR and put it on Word - never, ever, ever trust the recipe column.
Here are the mistakes, incase you are counting
He used 1/4 c. maple syrup - recipe says 2 tsp
He used 1/4 c balsamic vinegar - recipe says 2 tsp
He used 1-1/2 cups ( 3 to 1 ratio as he mentioned recipe-1/4C
He did NOT use a shallot - recipe says one shallot
He used 2 Rd. TBS dijon - recipe says 1 tsp.
If all of the reviewers on this subject got GREAT results, it was one of two things - either he was wrong on TV and the recipe was correct on the website, or it was just blind luck!!!!! I am so upset with FN, never going to use their recipe site again.

I am not good in the kitchen at all, I normally am just the helper. But I needed a salad to take for a party and chose this one. The time for me to do the preparation is certainly longer than shown here, yet it was still easy, low mess, and turned out delicious! Taking a salad seems almost like cheating, so having the homemade candied pecans and dressing just takes it up a level.
Will definitely make this again and again! Thanks!

I tried this for the first time tonight, and my whole family and I were blown away by it... I used bagged greens instead of getting the different types of lettuce- to save a bit of time, even though it doesn't take much time to make it! The dressing was wonderful, and the pears, pecans, and parm cheese complimented each other perfectly- way to go, Tyler!! :-

Every bite was a different flavor that combined so well. I made a few changes and added Craisins cranberries and substituted green apples for the pears. I also added walnuts but did not candy them since the sweet cranberries added enough sugar. I excluded the shallots and the dressing was wonderful. Beautiful color and taste. I can't wait to make this at my next holiday gathering. Thanks Tyler

I made this for my book club, and before dinner was over, I was asked for the recipe. Did not change anything except used a packaged spring mix lettuce instead of buying all that lettuce, it saved a lot of time. I will be saving this and using it again in the future, loved loved loved!

Made this salad for company several times and without exception everyone raved about it and requested the recipe. My daughter in law made it for Christmas Eve and it was the first bowl emptied. Maple syrup in it just put it over the top.

The maple dressing is out of this world! I make this all of the time and everytime I make it, I am asked for the recipe. Awesome and OH_so _good, toasted pine nuts tasty in it also- instead of the candiesd Pecans.
