Tyler, I love you, but you did not get this recipe from a Puerto Rican. I was born and raised on the island and I can guarantee that you can skip the salt and the lime wedges. Ripe plantains are SWEET, and they DO NOT need ANY added ingredients when you fry them.
You can eat them for breakfast in a tortilla, and for dinner and lunch with either beef, chicken, or pork. You can fry them, bake them, or boil them. Green or ripe, they are delicious. However, I prefer them ripe any day.

Yes, even if you don't now how to cook you will not go wrong with this recipe. Follow the directions and you will have no issues. Maduros are also great for breakfast with eggs.

Those are soooo good! They are good with fried eggs for breakfast, or alone as a snack.My babysitter was Puerto Rican so I grew up eating them alot. with the Pork Roast and Rice umm excelent!
