Have been testing recipes for Thanksgiving and LOVE these. We are torn between Tyler's scalloped potatoes with parmesan and these. (Maybe we'll go nuts and do both. I was hesitant about the mustard in tandem with Thanksgiving ingredients, but I think everything will combine beautifully. In any case, Tyler is fabulous and so are his potatoes! Super easy - I ended up cutting up the potatoes instead of boiling them whole like he had done. I will probably add a bit more garlic. I didn't put in the olive oil - will try that next time too. Yum!

These are FABULOUS! And I'm not really that big on mashed potatoes. At first, I thought potato salad when he said "grainy mustard". I had never any heard of grainy mustard (I'm not the chef in our house = or a mustard lover so I had to go shopping for it. I wanted to test these on myself before I presented them to the whole family on Thanksgiving & they are going to be a hit! Boiling the potatoes in the cream & milk give them a creamy consistency instead of watery like the old fashioned way of cooking them. The thyme, bay leaf & garlic give them the perfect flavor (except I'm a huge garlic fan so I added extra cloves. I also prefer a little more butter, so I added an extra tablespoon. The mustard totally enhanced the flavor of the potatoes. I was afraid that it would over-power the other ingredients, but it did not at all. Even with the mustard, these would be great with turkey gravy on them. Spot on recipe!

First, I have to say that I absolutely loved these! But...I cook Thanksgiving for a very picky group. I tested these on my husband tonight. He said they were just OK. We both loved the cream/milk cooking liquid but he hated the garlic, thyme and bay leaf. He also just hated the mustard. I'll use part of this recipe for Thanksgiving because cooking with the cream/milk mix and adding it back to the potatoes made them very creamy and moist- not dry or watery at all like when you boil in water. We also liked the butter olive oil mix. That added a nice flavor.

We loved the mustard in these........what a great change from the normal mashed potatoes. Leave it to Tyler to come up with something new. These had a wonderful "kick" which we loved. Thanks again Tyler!

These potatoes really are great. I made a smaller batch and used skim milk instead of the whole milk and they turned out great. The mustard really gives it a nice touch.

I have never made potatoes this way, but had to try it after watching Tyler?s show yesterday. Wow these were good! I stuck to the recipe with the exception of adding a few more cloves of Garlic. (I am a garlic freak and can't ever get enough of it. These are defiantly not low calorie but every creamy bite was worth the extra hour in the Gym!!!!! Delicious!!!
