I personally love this recipe. My family does as well. Instead of putting the crusty bread on top, I stick the good old french's fried onions. It tastes fantastic. I never get a bad review ! WELL WORTH IT

This dish looks beautiful and everyone was excited to tasteit. However, the sauce does not thicken and is lacking major taste. I will stick with the good old campbell's soup recipe. NOT WORTH THE WORK OR COST.

I have used this for three Thanksgiving dinners now. I am cooking it for our Father's Day dinner tomorrow. Everyone who I have served asks for the recipe. WORTH THE WORK!!!!

really good and pretty easy to put together. I only gave it four stars because I deviated a bit from the recipe, i just didn't have everything on hand ^_^ and frankly mushrooms in casserole gross me out.

EVERYONE loves this recipe. I've made it three times -Thanksgiving, Christmas, and now Easter. Every time, it is GONE and everyone loves it. I do have some variations, including sauteing garlic with the mushrooms, then making a sort of roux by adding flour before the liquid and reducing it. I substituted fat free evap milk for cream, and added a bit of chicken stock for flavor. I also used french fried onions and fresh parm cheese for the topping.

I made this recipe for a company potluck; I doubled all of the ingredients except for the mushrooms. It was the first item that we ran out of; everyone loved it and it was very easy to put together and reheat.

I hate traditional green bean casserole so maybe I shouldn't have expected much. I trusted some of the other reviews that claim that this is so much better. At the very least, I expected the crusty topping to be a hit. Not the case. The casserole itself was not runny at all, as others had stated, but it was bland and boring and the topping just tasted like toasted bread cubes. I even incorporated some of the French's onion rings into the mix and that didn't save me. I ended up throwing most of it out and will not make it again. Big disappointment. Sorry Tyler!

This green bean casserole recipe sounds fantastic, but it was too mushy. The croutons were too thick on top. This is an expensive recipe. I rather have the old standby with just green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and water chestnuts any day. This probably would have been great if it wasn't so soupy! It failed with everyone who ate it.

I made this for a progressive Thanksgiving dinner with several friends. We are all pretty good cooks. It got rave reviews from everyone. I don't like green beans, but even I liked this one. I did substitute some Italian Parsley and Sage for the chives.
