Great recipe, you can cut out the butter if you want to make a little lighter, or use it all for a special occasion. Either way is good.

Made this for Easter. It was easy to make. I was nervous that no one would like it but everyone LOVED it. I'm sure they'll want it for other occasions.

Very good and easy side. You need time to do it right so the onions are nicely carmelized. Even my 5 year old grandson thought it was good.

Yes, a very good and easy recipe for green beans. I used hickory smoke flavoured whole almonds that I chopped in half. The fresh thyme really makes the flavour better too.
Nice subtle flavour as another reviewer suggested. Paired this with salmon baked in a coriander pesto (heavy on the garlic, and Greek style roasted potatoes. An excellent meal.

Very good, very easy...my favorite kind of recipe! I doubled it and took it to a dinner party and everyone raved about them. Not one bean left! When we got back home the house still smelled wonderful from the caramelized onions and roasted almonds. This will definitely become my go to recipe for green beans. I did add a some crushed red pepper and a little chili sauce. Yum!

Very good! Liked the subtle flavors - great for having with a bolder entree (we had with a spiced rubbed prime rib. As written, this would definitely feed a huge crowd. I cut the beans down to 1 pound, used a whole large sweet onion, about a half a cup of almonds, and a big pinch of salt. Gave DH and I a large side serving and we had leftovers for days. If I made again - and I will - I would add a bit more salt, or if I wanted to serve with a more subtle entree I'd throw in a bolder spice rub.
