Awesome recipe! I've been making this recipe the past two years for thanksgiving (this will be year three! Its become a request and im EXPECTED to bring it!! One change/ addition i make to it is that i fry some bacon and break it up in addition to everything else i also use some of the bacon fat instead of the olive oil, not healthy i know, but it adds amazing flavor and thanksgiving only comes around once a year!! try it you'll love it with or without my bacon. Also make sure you use sweet onions, they carmelize so nicely... it really brings out the flavor in the dish!! Happy thanksgiving everyone!!

YUMMMMMMM. So good. I had this dish at a friend's house, and she gave us the recipe to make ourselves. SO GOOOOOD. We didnt use 3 lbs of green beans- just one package of Trader Joes green beans, which got eaten FAST! We also made this dish with his Chicken Francese recipe, which was a perfect compliment. Chicken Francese found here:

I made this at Thanksgiving as an alternative to the same old green bean casserole! It was so well received that it was requested again at Christmas. Now I'm emailing all of the relatives the recipe, by request!

I did cook the green beand for about 8 minutes instead of the 5the recipe said. Your family will love this!

My sister-in-law made these for Thanksgiving and I couldn't get enough. I went back for seconds and considered thirds and if's the first time I've EVER gone back for seconds on a vegetable.

Served these as one of the vegetable dishes at our Thanksgiving feast in 2009. They are excellent. I carmelized the onions as the beans were cooking and roasted the almonds ahead of time. Once the beans were cooked and drained I just combined everything and put them in the serving dish. They were well cosumed at the table.

I made these green beans tonite for dinner and they were amazing! I cooked my beans longer because my kids like them a little softer. Cheap to make and fantastic to eat! I will be making these again and again!

This recipe is absolutely the best. I've made it to go along with steak, grilled salmon and even a pasta dish. It is wonderful, and very easy to prepare. Everyone asks for the recipe when I serve this dish. This is a winner.
