We had these for dinner last night with our creamy mashed potatoes. We were bowled over. This will be the only way we will have green beans from now on.
I would rearrange the cooking order of the ingredients though. I would toast the almonds and fry the onions ahead of time. Then cook the beans and stir them into the olive oil and butter with the almonds and heat them all together. It's too much going on to try to do it all at once. Thanks Tyler for a great new recipe

I made these the other night to go with steak. They are delicious! It takes a while to carmelize the onions but it is worth it. I had to substitute walnuts for the almonds but they were great with the beans. I also added a bit of garlic with the onions. These are delicious and a must try! These definately will be a repeat!

Lovely! Each component came out with wonderful flavor. A hit with everyone, even those who didn't fancy vegetables.

Made this for Father's Day and it was absolutely delicious. The family loved it. I put scallions though, a tiny bit of garlic, and toasted a little bit of sunflower seed mixed in the almonds. Magnifico!

These beans were delicious. We like beans cooked a bit longer so we did so. Be sure to take more time to really carmelize the onions. The combo of these onions, thyme and almonds made the green beans sing - even reheated! Great recipe Tyler.

I tended the game hens and the rice while guests sliced the onions and blanched the string beans. Delicious and a perfect compliment to our Christmas dinner. Thanks!

This recipe is fantastic! I will be making this again in the near future. The onions were superb combined with the beans and the thyme. I never realized how much I enjoyed thyme until I made this recipe. The beans were very flavorful.

I cooked the beans in a steamer the night before. I also cooked the onions and toasted the almonds the night before. I incorporated the green beans and onions shortly before Thanksgiving dinner in a skillet. I toasted the almonds again and served. My family enjoyed the new take on green beans. I will be making this during the week for myself. This recipe is so quick and easy that it can be made and enjoyed any night of the week.
