I used yellow beans instead of green and dry thyme instead of fresh. Both because those were the only options available. It was really really incredible. The toasted almonds were so great!! I could have eaten this all by it self!! Paired with Tylers standing rib roast and tylers roasted sweet potatoes (yams. The flavours were unbelievable on all 3.

    So great!!

Wow- sure beats that green bean casserole with french fried onions on top! Not salty, just lots of flavor.

This recipe was quick and easy. The caramelized onions add that extra flavor that your regular green beans with toasted almonds may be missing. I didn't have any fresh thyme around, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this recipe. Next time, I think I will use 2 skillets and get my onions going and boil the beans simultaneously.

I made these beans for my Supper Club. I do not cook. In fact, I hate to cook but joined a supper club 3 years ago and do the best I can each time my turn comes around. I always depend upon the recipes I find on this website. Everybody loved these beans!

This was a wonderfully flavorful vegetable dish. I added grated carrots when the thyme went into the onions as I was short on the green been poundage. I received great compliments for your dish. Way to go Tyler!!!

The Green Beans with Caramelized Onion were very good. They tasted very well together and the thyme made it even better. I am disappointed that I didn't have any almonds for the dish. I liked how it was so simple to make.

    Sincerely,

I'll be honest, I don't even like green beans. But when I was tasked with bringing the vegetable dish to Thanksgiving, I figured that was generally a popular item. So I found this recipe, cooked it for the first time that Thanksgiving day and WOW. Not only did all 25 guests LOVE it, but I liked it too! To this day, it is the only green bean recipe I have every enjoyed...I even got seconds. It's really a perfect side dish for most proteins, and the caramelized onions and toasted almonds give it a really unique flavor.

This is the best green beans I have made. People loved it at dinner. I did use a mandoline (the $5 one which works wonders for the onions. The secret was to have the onions in slices because it gets tangled with the beans and almonds (toasted and it really taste good.
