If you like your green beans crunchy, this is a good recipe for you. If not, please cook them a bit longer. My family did not eat them well because they were too crunchy. I'm going to try to saute the entire batch to see if it softens the beans a bit when I serve them as left-overs today. Otherwise, it was a great taste and recipe.

I served this dish today for Thanksgiving. It was great to have one dish that was easy to prepare. I caramelized the onions while doing several other things. I love caramelized onions and the almonds were a great addition they added such a great crunch.

Perfect for thanksgiving, Although I had to break out the lobster pot to boil all the green beans. It made a delicious large serving that pleased the whole table at thanksgiving. The onions add a nice sweetness, and the almonds gave it an amazing little crunch.

I think the whole key to this recipe is to make sure you let the green beans cool down and cook those onions - really let them caramelize - 35 minutes even. Recipe was perfect as is. The little thyme addition was wonderful. Wouldn't change a thing.

You will never want to eat your green beans any other way...just magnificent- the combination of almond crunch, thyme butteriness and crisp beans make this the ULTIMATE side dish!!
