If you can find an Asian market that carries Thai, Vietnamese groceries, chances are they might have the freshly julienned green papaya...it's a common dish in Thailand. Put the salad on top of the regular salad greens....Delicious!!

If you have never had this in the thai/lau restaurants, it may sound strange but it's worth making! I found the papaya in the summertime in my local asian market, already shredded. Think of it tasting similar to a jaicama (sp?. Crunchy like an apple, but almost a cucumber flavor.

I absolutely loved this salad, not only because it was different but it was so tasty and a great texture.
I made everything from the episode High Seas Picnic, it was lots of fun to make and everyone loved the recipes.
