When taking a chance with an expensive piece of meat you should read reviews. I didn't and this one was way too salty. My nephew prepared this recipe and found it to be the same, very salty. Not worthy of a prime rib.

I did 2 chuck roasts instead of prime rib and used my Griswold roaster on the stove then finished the last hour in the oven. Using the right herbs make a great difference too.

It is hard to wreck a prime-rib, also hard to make a lot better: this recipe does the latter ... easily ...

I made the prime rib and mushrooms for a special occasion meal and it was outstanding. I did cut the amount of salt in the rub and it was perfect for our tastes. The meat was flavorful and juicy.
The mushrooms were a delicious accompaniment and would go well with other beef dishes.
I will definitely make this again.

This was the best Christmas dinner we have ever had. The prime rib was perfect.
This recipe has become our Christmas dinner tradition.

I think there is a mistake in this reciepe. I followed the reciepe to the letter, it called for 1/2 cup of sea salt. We had to wipe off the crust because it was tooooo salty, or we would have had to throw out a very expensive piece of meat. My husband and kids thought I was try to kill them. On the bright side the mushrooms were great. I think if you used half the amount of salt called for it would be good.

I knew this would be a great one just by reading the recipe and seeing Tyler's show, but I had no idea this melt-in-your-mouth prime rib would have the savory flavor it did...and the aroma - fantastic! This was difeinitely the highlight of our Christmas dinner. Just awesome!!
