i never write reviews, but this recipe definitely deserved one. the meatballs are soft and delicious. i used half and half instead of heavy cream, wheat bread instead of white bread and i didnt have currant jam so i used the ligonberry jam in the sauce, and it came out delicious. the only thing i would change is the amount of butter, i would use less next time because i dont think the recipe needs it.

this recipe is in my recipe box for next time!

I made half of the meatball recipe and got about 35 meatballs out of it. I cut everything in half but the sauce recipe. I wanted the extra sauce to put over egg noodles. I only used 1 teaspoon of salt instead of 1 tablespoon and they were salty enough. So that must have been a typo in the recipe. I can't imagine how horrible these would be if someone used 2 tblsp. of salt. The sauce is super rich and delicious. I also added a sprinkle of nutmeg to the meatball mix.

This recipe is wonderful. My friends loved it. There were not any leftovers. A few tweeks. I can't believe that the meatballs should really have 2 tbsp of salt in them, I only put 2 tsp and that was perfect. I also did not put the jam in the sauce.

These meatballs were amazing! The sauce was incredible. Everyone loved the mashed potatos and the cucumber salad as well. The black current jam gave alot of flavor. Will definitely be making this over and over again!

Everything about this recipe was wonderful. This was the first recipe I ever tried with jam as sauce over meat and it was delicious. It was very adventurous. We put this meal together as a family and we had alot of fun. My teenage son prepared this dish and my daughter made the Velvety Mashed Potatoes which were also scrumptious. I was able to hang back a little bit while supervising. It was great!

    Thank you, Chef Tyler!

Keep 'em coming!! We're looking forward to more great meals to prepare together!

Sauce was weird and too sweet to compliment meatballs .. Deletion from my recipe box.

I did just some minor tweaking, since the 1st attempt of this failed because of the mushy meatballs. The tweaking was to use the bread soaked in milk (only left it 5 mins second attempt and I also added about a 1/4 cup of panko breadcrumbs. Only aother ajustment was to use only 1 table spoon of salt and to added 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg. I served it over egg noodles and it's how tradional I've eaten the dish.

I have to say that the black currant jam added so much to the suace, and it complimented the ligonberry jam condiment. Usually as a cook I am very critical of my own cooking and even if I find a receipe good it's rare that I find it outstanding. This is amoung one of the best dishes I've ever eaten.

I also did the picke cucumber and that was awesome as well. All the flavors blended so well and had so many surprised notes from savory to sweet that I will from now on make swedish meatballs with the sides like Tyler has shown us.

This is the perfect meatball recipe. The texture was perfect! My family love them. The only change I made was I only used 1 T of salt instead of 2. I was able to find Lingonberry jelly at the store in the "foreign foods" section (it's imported from Sweden. It complimented the meatballs perfectly. This recipe is a keeper!
