This recipe is the best turkey I have ever made. It draws rave reviews from the family. Better than smoking a turkey by far. Maybe I will try this recipe and smoke it!

This was my first turkey, hosting a crew of 15 people. Everyone loved it! I got rave reviews and am in charge of the bird every year now. It is a bit sweet, considering it calls for maple syrup, but it is not overpowering and blends well with the sage butter. I make this about 3x/yr now. Absolutely delicious!

For those of you looking for a turkey recipe, I highly recommend this one. I used this recipe Thanksgiving 2006. All of our guests enjoyed the flavor and tenderness; we heard comments like "this is the best turkey ever". I did use a fresh (not frozen turkey from a local farmer's market. I was impressed with the results of this recipe and will be using it again this Thanksgiving. One note: I increased the amount of syrup; if you try this just be careful because the drippings get a little sweet.

This is the 3rd year I will be making this incredible turkey recipe. Last year I even had my very particular and plain-jane cooking style mother-in-law ask me for the recipe because of how good it was the first year I made it. It is as moist as it could possibly be and the tastes of the sage, bacon, and maple can all be tasted. An amazing combonation. Tyler Florence has done it again!! **Make sure to baste it exactly how it says to to ensure the moistness!
