This is the best turkey recipe I have ever tried! I started making this 4 years ago and my family will NOT even let me think about trying a new turkey recipe. The stuffing is also heavenly and the gravy is out of this world. The sage-butter makes this recipe and the maple syrup helps to create the best gravy you will ever taste! I also use a flavor injector like some people suggested and it helps create the juciest turkey! You cannot go wrong making this recipe!!

we made this turkey last year for Christmas. It turned out very tasty, dont remember if it was dry or not. Now that Diane from FL mentioned, I would try the brine process to see if it helps.

I made this the day after Thanksgiving. The turkey turned out very moist and flavorful. I guess the sage butter and the bacon help seal in the juices of the turkey. The gravy had a maple syrup flavored taste which was a pleasant surprise to the gravy. I am really impressed with this recipe. Thanks Tyler!

It's a very easy and very delicious recipe. I usually like to experiment with different recipes, but this one is so good, there's no need to find another. It's become my Thanksgiving/any time I'm making turkey go-to recipe. It's also good with chestnuts added to the stuffing, and turkey bacon instead of pork bacon. It's even good without the bacon--the sage butter and maple glaze are the real stars here, but if you want to add some liquid smoke instead of bacon, that works well too.

My family LOVES this recipe! I have made this for the last 3 years and it always turns out fantastic! At this point, I'm now designated as the maker of "The Turkey" every year! My suggestion though, is to use all of the bacon that it calls for, and then add more! There's just something about bacon that makes the world (and turkey seem better! :

I try something new every year, but this year I went for simple...and was it a hit! I cooked the remaining stuffing (after stuffing the turkey in my crockpot on low for the day, while the turkey was roasting...and it was moist (not wet and everyone loved it! The turkey was perfectly browned, and the smokiness of the bacon with the hint of maple syrup was a wonderful flavour (especially to the family who doesn't ever try anything new!. Definitely something I'll do again! Thanx for the recipe, Tyler!
