This Thanksgiving was the first ever where I made every dish. For a first timer I was nervous about making such a huge meal. I made this recipe and it was great. My husband and even my pickey kids loved it.

This turkey came out wonderful! It was a perfect golden brown and soooo juicy. My husband, kids, and I actually went to share Thanksgiving at a friends house who had other guests as well and they all raved about my turkey and asked "who made this turkey?" There was another turkey that someone else made, but I didn't hear any comments on it and mine was eaten all up. I will definitely be making this turkey again and since I didn't make it for my family, I'm going to make it for Christmas and have my family come over this year. I wasn't crazy about the stuffing, but I prefer the more traditional stuff and I had to keep adding water and chicken broth to the bottom of the pan while cooking the turkey otherwise the maple kept almost burning the bottom of the pan. Other than that, this turkey was the best one I've ever tried and even the breast was so moist and juicy. Thanks Tyler, for sharing this wonderful recipe!

This is the 3rd time I have made this turkey, and I am pleased every year. My family always enjoys it and my husband has convinced his co workers that their fried turkeys are no comparison to this Maple Roasted Turkey. This is a fantastic recipe, I will continue to make for years to come. Thank you Food Network for all your great recipes!

I tend to use different recipes when I plan for my Thanksgiving dinner. This year I used Tyler Florence's recipe for the Maple-Roasted Turkey with Sage and Smoked Bacon. I also used Rachel Ray's Chipotle Gravy recipe and my family recipe for the stuffing.
The turkey was the absolute bomb; everyone loved it! Turkey was juicy, tender, and very, very tasty. The gravy was good too and had had a nice kick to it.

I used this recipe for cooking my first turkey ever, as I knew that Tyler would not steer me wrong. It was absolutely perfect. Not only was it moist and delicious, but it had the appearance of something out of a magazine. It was a proud moment. The bacon adds a very nice smokey flavor, while the maple syrup gives it a sweet surprise. I didn't make the stuffing recipe, but I'm sure it is good as well. Plan on making all the thanksgiving dinners from now on if you serve this bird to your guests.

I've roasted and stuffed many turkeys in my day; this by far is the best! The stuffing cooked outside the bird was great, but the stuffing inside was AMAZING! I added sliced almonds and celery to the stuffing; otherwise, I wouldn't change a thing! The breast meat was super moist. I had just a tinge of pink near the bone, but it continued cooking the more it sat. (I removed from the oven at temp reading of 170. Next time, I am putting all the stuffing in the bird and then will remove it and brown just the top of the stuffing under the broiler. YUM!

My first thanksgiving was a hit thanks to Tyler's turkey. The best thanksgiving dinner ever, raved my guests! Very moist turkey, stuffing was good, and the gravy was perfect (no one found the gravy sweet like another review mentioned-be sure to use pure maple syrup. I took advice from other reviewers and put sage, apples, and onions in the cavity of the turkey (baking the stuffing separate and added chicken broth, celery, onions, and apples to the bottom of the pan to flavor the drippings and prevent burning. If you make this turkey you are sure to be asked to make it again next thanksgiving, that's what happened to me!!

This year Thanksgiving was only four people, so I decided I didn't need to make a whole bird. I altered the recipe by using turkey tenderloins. I cooked the bacon almost all of the way through first and saved the bacon drippings in a cup. I put all of the tenderloins (i made 8 of them in a foil lined pan and spread the sage butter on top of them. I laid two strips of bacon on each tenderloin and poured the bacon drippings and maple syrup (cut back to 1/2c over top. I cooked covered for an hour at 350* and about another 10-15 min uncovered to finish browning the bacon. I also added about a cup of cheese to the cornbread recipe. Everything came out amazingly juicy and perfect! My boyfriend isn't big on gravy but said it was the best he ever had! My mom usually makes the gravy every year and came prepared with her own flour and seasonings... tried mine and didnt make hers! They already put me in charge of making it again next year : Thanks for a great recipe!

Excellent, easy to prepare, moist and juicy. This was my first turkey and I couldn't t believe how simple it was to prepare. My wife and I especially enjoyed the bacon strips. Very tasty with the Maple syrup basting.

My six year old, who doesn't eat anything other than pizza, chiken nuggets and hot dogs actually asked for more and this morning asked if I would make turkey again.

My husband does not like turkey at all. I am not to crazy about it myself. After last years attempt at him making a turkey we decided not to do turkey anymore, then I saw this and decided I would give it a shot for the first time all by myself. Let me say the turkey turned out moist and great. The thigh meat was falling off the bone. No more overcooked dry turkey. My husband kept telling our guests how great the Turkey tasted and how "I did it up' this year . But I did not do the bacon, I got scared and took the bacon off. It started smelling like bacon so I was skeptical about the turkey tasting like bacon. I did everything else exactly as stated and it was great . The turkey came out a golden brown. The stuffing was my favorite. It was the best stuffing ever. I never liked stuffing beacuse I have only just has boxed stuffing, Never again ! The stuffing was so so tasty. I will make this everytime I have to make stuffing .The gravy was a little sweet from the syrup, but once I added a packet of gravy mix in with the homemade gravy it evened out . I also did the cranberry orange sauce that was a perfect compliment. This was a great recipe and it turned out perfect this Thanksgiving. I would do it again next year.
