This was the first turkey I have ever cooked. Very easy recipe, turned out amazing. My wife and her best friend loved it and I have shared it with her mother hoping that she can use it for thanksgiving next year.

This turned out wonderfully! It makes a very interesting sweet gravy using the drippings from the pan. I make a savory gravy on the side just in case but everyone really liked the sweet. I think I will secure the bacon with picks next time I make it.

The turkey is moist with a ton of flavor; the stuffing is fantastic but the pan drippings were like burnt sugar from the syrup so the gravy was thrown out. I make really great gravy so this was a disappointment to have to go without. Did anyone else experience this?

EVERYTHING I HAVE TRIED OF HIS COMES OUT GREAT....NO ONE REALLY WANTED THE BACON, BUT IT(BACON TASTE SO SWEET FROM THE MAPLE SYRUP!! I USED MY OWN CORNBREAD STUFFING RECIPE AND DID NOT STUFF MY BIRD...I WAS RUNNING SHORT ON TIME...BUT THE TURKEY ITSELF CAME OUT FABULOUS.

I did not try the turkey, so I cannot comment on that. I did make the stuffing and it was terrible!

I am now the Queen of Turkey, Stuffing & Gravy! Wowee wow wow! I brined the turkey with kosher salt, water & honey as well as seasoned the water with sage, thyme & garlic for a little over 12 hours. I used a 12lb Fresh Young Turkey from Butterball. I made the Caramelized Onion & Sage Stuffing and 2 batches of gravy. I made the pan gravy from this recipe as well as the Smoked Turkey Gravy. That Smoked Turkey Gravy is to die for! It made so much in fact that I can freeze the leftovers and use for Christmas instead of making a 2nd batch. THANK YOU TYLER!!!

This was my first turkey and as many other reviewers said, it was both very easy and delicious. You could pick up on all the flavors of the syrup, sage, and bacon and it was super-moist and beautiful. The cornbread stuffing was awesome as well, but next time I'll put all of it in a separate baking dish to speed the cooking time on the turkey.

I will be making this again year after year WITHOUT A DOUBT!

This was my first turkey ever. I was very nervous, but out of the two turkeys made tonight (thanksgivingthe sage turkey was picked clean I don't even think the wishbone was left!
I did, however, use alot more syrup than the recipe called for. Almost an entire bottle.
    THanks Tyler!
P.S. I made his mac and cheese too!

This is a fantastic turkey. After I made it once, family and friends wanted it exclusively! When I tried a different recipe for variety, I heard, "Why didn't you make the Tyler turkey with bacon?" Yeah. It's that good!
