This was the first time I've had to cook Thanksgiving dinner. I watched Tyler make it on the show and I knew this was the Turkey I wanted to make. I did cook it at 325 instead of 375. It was incredibly delicious and moist! The sage butter in between the bird and the skin was a great way to keep the turkey moist and flavorful. We don't like traditional stuffing so I opted for stuffing it with veggis and fresh herbs. This is now our recepie for every thanksgiving from here on. Thank you Tyler!

This was the first Tyler Florence recipe I have tried and I will definitely try many more of his recipes in the future. I made a few deviations from the recipe, including brining the turkey the night before (never fails me, flipping it over on its breast halfway through cooking and I used dried sage instead of fresh. The turkey was delicious, moist and well-seasoned. My family pigged out on the turkey and asked for the recipe.

Worried about doing only my 2nd turkey ever & my first try at stuffing but Tyler's Sage Butter Turkey & the Onion/Sage dressing made me look like I cook a turkey every year!

Even my best friend who doesn't like turkey ate some.

    Very easy to do!

The turkey was excellent and moist. The sage and butter added good flavor and kept it moist. I had a 13.4 lb turkey and it cooked in about 2 hours and 45 minutes.

This was only the second turkey I've ever cooked. My parents use this same basic method (butter and herbs under the skin...olive oil and seasoning on top so that was nothing new to me. But the sage was a nice little addition. I did however do the turkey in a roasting bag to make it a little easier for my first Thanksgiving at my house! Everybody kept commenting on how moist it was.

I didn't completely follow the recipe because I used a brine for 12 hours before - Other than the brine I followed it pretty close. This was the best tasting, moistest Turkey I've ever made. Next year I'll make it again but I'll cook the stuffing on the side.
