If serving to a Vegetarian, you may want to change the Oyster Sauce to a Vegetarian Version. Oyster Sauce isn't Vegetarian.

The broth is very pleasant, flavorful, and yet delicate and the fried tofu brings a couple of additional dimensions to the dish. I can't wait to make this again! It would be almost as good if you didn't want to go through the effort of frying the tofu and just cubed it and added it to the soup. But frying it brings something very lovely to the soup with respect to both taste and texture. I so often find that Tyler's recipe add those additional levels of flavors and textures which makes them so enjoyable to eat.

I hate to admit how often we have this soup, but let's just say that it is surprisingly often. The perfect combination of salty-sourness and great texture is positively addictive. We follow the recipe exactly and love every last bite.

Made the fried tofu last night. My husband doesn't generally like tofu but he actually said this was "very good". Served it with a honey teriyaki sauce.

These are so easy to make and involve little mess in the kitchen. And once they're done you can grab one for a quick snack. I used soy cheese and brocolli with the shrimp...great additions to this dish!

This soup is great. The tofu is fabulous on the soup and can be used in other dishes, I especially like this tofu on salads. Tyler is my favorite and his asian dishes are terrific!

I was a little intimidated by this recipe, but I've made it quite a few times now because it is soooo good. A little time intensive, but definitely worth the effort.
