I was excited to make this after watching the show and was even more excited when it turned out delicious. I've never cooked a butt with a dry rub--but the color the next morning was beautiful. I have to admit I was a little nervous when it came out of the oven with a hard shell, but when I "cracked" into it the meat was moist, tender and delicious. My husband loved it, the neighbor loved it and even the two girls who are picky eaters loved it. The rub gives it a nice "smokey" flavor. This would be really great cooked on a smoker--but is just a delicious out of the oven. Try it--you'll love it.

This recipe couldn't get any simplier. The roast came out wonderful, juicy and flavorful.

My newlywed daughter made this and it was not only delicious it was the best I ever had. We thought the sauce was great, but we love vinegar so maybe people who do not care for it would ease back on that. I plan to make this often myself. Yum!

I grew up eating my mom's slow cooked BBQ pork and have never been able to make it quite as good. That changed today. This was melt in your mouth tender and the rub added just the right amount of flavor. It really didn't need a BBQ sauce (which I didn't make. BTW, mine was 7.25 lb and I cooked it in the Nesco roaster at 275 for 6 hours. Perfect!

The pulled pork recipe was super easy and delicious; however, the recipe for the barbecue sauce was just plain awful. I checked and double checked to be sure I read it correctly - and I did. All you could taste was the vinegar. Could there have been a typo in the quantities? Glad I had a bottle of prepared sauce in the pantry to used instead!

this was a simple recipe to follow and the pork fell off the bones after the 6 hours. although 6 hours seems like a long time to cook, it was well worth the wait. the bbq sauce was outrageous and simple to make. the whole family loved it, including my daughter and husband who are picky eaters. This is great as part of a bbq, esp. making it a day ahead, tastes even better.
