    I was a little concerned when my wife told me she was using a new recipe to make pumpkin pie this year for our Thanksgiving feast at our house. We had 14 family members over and my wife made two of your pies. Pumpkin pie is my favorite food item to enjoy at Thanksgiving and I did not want her to "experiment" with tradition. Your pie recipe was a total disaster at our gathering. I was the first to try it and I had one bite when I immediately recognized the terrible texture, bland taste and overall poor taste. I could not even take a second bite before warning our other guests to avoid the pie at all costs. My daughter had a stomach ache all night which I am blaming on your pie. I am also blaming you for the headache I have this morning and my irritable mood. You messed with tradition with this recipe, and you failed horribly. The next time my wife tries a new recipe I will make sure it is not a recipe by Tyler Florence. You should not be allowed to continue to give out recipes on your show. You should be placed on immediate suspension by your employers. Thanks for ruining the Thanksgiving meal of our family, and other Americans who made the mistake of eating your pie. I only hope that our overseas troops were not somehow subjected to your pumpkin pie recipe as they have suffered enough protecting our freedoms, including your freedom to make up lousy recipes for pumpkin pies. You should be ashamed of yourself Tyler Florence.

    You call yourself a cook? This pie was so bad my dog would not eat it, nor would the homeless guy down the street, it not ony looked awful but it tasted worse than reheated puke, it was nasty plain and simple, I can not believe you put this on your show, I am now afraid to try anything you promote! Thank God for Alton Brown! Here is a tip for you, Eat out allot! Cause your food stinks!
    Burger King pies taste better than this!, You really should think about tasting what you try to promote, it would have been interesting to see you turning green on national TV.
    There out to be a disclaimer on here warning those who want to try it, WARNING May cause disgust and anger!

    I made this pie for Thanksgiving and it was pretty to look at but it taste horrible! I followed the recipe exactly as it is written. I tasted the pie filling before baking and it was delicious but after baking it was bland and the texture was unpleasant. After slicing the pie and letting it sit for a while, there was liquid in the bottom. I was rather disappointed.

    There are several flaws to this recipe. What should be the appropriate weights for the sugar pumpkins? Roasting the pumpkins took 1.5 hours. The spices were lacking and therefore the pie had no flavor. For some reason, I had liquid on the bottom of the pie. The only accurate thing about this recipe was the meringue. This was a whole lot of work for a pretty terrible tasting pie!

    Made for Thanksgiving. Pretty to look at. Meringue was the only thing worth eating. Time consuming. Not worth the time to make or the cost involved. Incredibly disappointing. I followed the receipe as written. When I tasted before baking I thought good. Once I tasted after completed it was Pure Yuck. Blland. Disappointing from Florence

    The pie was a lot easier to make then I thought using the whole pumpkins. the taste of the pie was poor. The meringue was awful. it was a complete pain to keep the egg whites from forming into a liquid, maybe I was in over my head when I thought I would be able to make it. I think if I do ever deicide to make the pie again I would substitute with whipped cream it would be so much better. Lesson learned!!

    I think Tyler never actually tasted this pie. I followed the directions to the letter, and the texture was awful and the taste was bland. A recipe that needs as much alteration as this can't be a great recipe. A completely inedible pie.

    I'm not a fan of pumpkin pie, but I made this one for my family for Thanksgiving this year after seeing Tyler make it and I LOVED it. I followed the recipe exactly, except that I used a blender instead of a food processor and everything came out great. The only problem I came across was having a lot of extra filling, so I just made a second pie. Definitely recommend!

    well once i saw this pie on televison.. i HAD to do it . it looked sooo good & eaasy ! I am only 16 and i prepared it all by myself. i just finished doing it about an hour or two ago .. it came out fantastic ! i was scared it wouldnt come out good but it did ! For all you otherss that say the pie is nastyy.. i dont knoe what your talking about .. you probably didnt prepare it right or somethinggg.. i mean how hard is it to read & follow the direcitions ?... anyways this pie was amazinggg !! x3333

    I'm 21 and this was my first Thanksgiving in which I decided to cook! I saw this recipe on TV and thought it looked like a lot of fun to make. Even with all the ingredients required, this pie was actually extremely easy to make. I read the reviews on here before actually attempting to make this pie, but I ended up doubling the sugar in the recipe and it turned out great! I highly recommend this to anyone!
