My mother has been making rice pilaf my while life and I have never found another recipe like hers this recipe is almost the same except she uses beef broth and reg onions no other seasonings besides salt and pepper though... But this recipe is pretty close but the beef broth kicks up the flavor a little more... Delishioso!

This is really good! It's easy to prepare yet delicious! I ran out of chicken broth so I was only able to use 1 1/2 cups. I just used 1 1/2 cups of water to complete the 3 cups of liquid. It was still delicious!

This was the BEST rice pilaf I've had in a LONG time. I've been trying to recreate this pilaf from a middle eastern place and this is the closest thing to it.

    I used Veggie Broth

great flavor! I didn't have shallots on hand, so I used 1/2 a yellow onion & 1/2 a TBS of garlic

This rice was FANTASTIC - the best I have ever had and it was SO EASY to make. I did not have the basmati rice, so I used long grain white rice and it was superb. Even my very picky husband said it was the best rice he's ever had. I made the Lemon Chicken Breast recipe from the Barefoot Contessa and used the sauce from that chicken over the rice and it was to die for!!! I will be using this recipe forever! Thank you, Tyler, for all of your recipes!!! You are the "ultimate" chef!!!

Excellent dish-used regular Basmati Rice-used more stock than recipe called for and cooked for 30 minutes-it was wonderful-served it with a Pork Loin with Jack Daniels gravy !! (tasted as it was cooking to adjust cooking time and adding more liquid

Easy recipe with nice flavors. Used brown rice instead of basmati and the color was beautiful. Brown rice needed to simmer for much longer, about 45 minutes.
