I tried it as published and changed it up a little and it was great both ways. On the alternate version I cut back on the salt a little, added some chili powder to crust and cooked on the grill over hickory. It was the best prime rib any of my guests had ever had. Thanks Tyler.

Follow the directions EXACTLY and you will not be disappointed. This meal had my boyfriends mother, who hasn't eaten red meat in 10 years, to practically lick the platter clean. AWESOME MEAL.

We received rave reviews from the family when we prepared this dish for the holidays. We didn't use a bone-in rib roast though, we used a boneless and it came out great!
It's a bit on the salty side, but since I love salt, I didn't mind (and neither did our guests.

My mother has been using a very good Prime Rib recipe for many years but I as soon as I watched Tyler make this on his show, my mouth began to water and I wanted to try it. My mother was very reluctant to try a new recipe so the best I could do was get her to buy a large prime rib and cut it in half. She would cook one with her recipe and I would cook the other with Tyler?s. Needless to say, when my mother tasted Tyler?s Prime Rib she was blown away. She wouldn?t admit it openly but Tyler?s Prime Rib was 10 times better and none was left at the end of the night. Everyone should try this at least once. It?s very easy to make and is some of the best Prime Rib I?ve ever tasted.

I was leery, but my family loves horseradish. This was by far the best prime rib I have ever cooked, and no additional seasoning was needed. I have shared this recipe with friends, and everyone raves out it!

I'm a novice in the kitchen, and I made this as the main dish for Christmas dinner. It was awesome and I got all the credit!

This was delicious, tender, and full of amazing flavor. The only change I would consider is using pre-minced, jarred garlic instead of smashing the garlic pieces, that way the garlic would be spread more evenly.

A little salty, but the best Christmas food I've ever had. I'm going to make it apart of my monthly meal calendar!
