I have made this hors d'oeuvre several times and it is a winner with guests and family alike. It's very easy and best of all can be ahead of time.
You can substitute the bacon with lightly fried prociutto and it is equally delicious.

Excellent! I had pears & goat cheese that needed to be used. While grilling chicken for Memorial Day, I prepped these and placed them in the oven. I didn't used baby pears so they were not quite ready after 30 minutes. I put them outside on the grill to finish. What a wonderful side! I even tested one with olive oil mixed with truffle oil for the pre-cooking drizzle. Fabulous. By the way, I only had (salted Tuscon herb seasoning so that's what I seasoned the goat cheese with and I left off the extra salt and pepper before baking. Thanks Tyler!

Easy, fast and delicious. Brought the dish, still warm and gooey, to an Easter potluck and a summer potluck and both times it was one of the first dishes to disappear. Foodies raved about the combination of sweet and savory. Baby pears are wonderful but a couple of times when I prepared this dish, I couldn't find them in the market, so used small sized regular pears cut in thirds and cooked them 5-7 minutes longer due to the sizing adjustment--they are still just the right taste and balance combination. Thank you, Tyler, for a great recipe.

Amazing! I did cut the bacon in half and then sliced it thinly to wrap around the pears. They now have herbed goat cheese in the supermarket. Used that, cut the time in half. Everyone loved it!

I tried this out tonight to use Thanksgiving for an hors d'oeuvre. My husband and I really liked the recipe. I used a little cream cheese along with the goat cheese and put more filling in the pears. I didn't use the parsley, but did add some fresh rosemary and used green onion tops instead of chives. I chopped the bacon instead of using using a whole slice to wrap the pear. I also sprinkled toasted chopped walnuts and dried cranberries that I had soaked in hot water over the top before baking. I added some balsamic vinegar that I had reduced to the honey. To serve I sliced the cooked pears and served with butter crackers. Really good!

I made this for a party as a test for Thanksgiving. Everyone loved them but I had to cook them much longer because I had small pears but not baby. Buy forelle pears and that should do the trick.

Made this for the family last Christmas, and it was a major hit! The only thing to remember is you must pick very ripe pears, or else you will need to extend the oven time.
Not only is this a superb appetizer, but with the right after dinner cordial, I would not hesitate to serve this for dessert..
