Tyler Florence is a very talented and innovative culinary artist and his simplistic approach is certainly realized in this incredibly tasty marinade. We used it for 2 very nice flank steaks-the flavor was enhanced immensely, the addition of 'roasted' garlic and shallots is genius. Next attempt will will on some rib-eyes. Nice job Tyler.

I made this when I was visiting family in Rome, the quality of the ingredients over in Europe made this dish phenomenal. Of course it never hurts to go to the butcher and watch them slice your beautifully marbled steaks. I had them cut on the thin side which worked out really well for this marinade.

My husband and I have a new favorite marinade! This is extremely flavorful without being bitter. It has a wonderful taste that I didn't expect. I was only able to marinate the steaks for about an hour, so I can't even imagine how wonderful they are marinated overnight. The only thing I did different was use vidalia onion because I didn't have shallots. I'm going to try this on pork chops next.

We made this marinade and cooked the meat according to Tyler's "fist muscle method" to judge the degree of doneness. Although the steaks were definitely medium, they were much tougher than usual (after 4 hours of marinading compared with dry rub. However, they did have a fabulous flavor. Maybe the acidity of the vinegar toughens the steaks?

The best, moistest, flavorful New York steaks ever! My husband usually uses steak sauce, but not this time. He grubbed his steaks. The easiest and best marinade for steaks I've tried so far. I am going to try this marinade on tri-tip; should be just as good on any cut of meat. Definitely a keeper for my recipe box. Thank you Tyler for the awesome marinade.
