Excellent! I hate it when people change or substitute ingredients (as I am wont to do and then rate a recipe. They're rating their own recipe! I followed the ingredients on this one exactly. I do think that the quality and strength of the bleu cheese is important. I did core the pears however and slice a small piece off the back side so they would sit flat. I was surprised that you couldn't even tell there was any skin on them. All the flavors complimented each other quite well. I did use cream cheese on one of the pears (for the obvious reason and it was still devoured with great enjoyment. This one's a keeper and we look forward to eating this again.

They make a great breakfast after a night of drinking....easy to digest and they are subtle in flavor! We love them! Also great appies or to go along with pork, etc. Enjoy!

I made this last year for thanksgiving for our big family gathering. I wanted to bring something different to the table and this was a hit. Even the children loved it, blue cheese and all. Once again, Tyler's recipe was a success. This year, I'm making his roasted pears with herbed goat cheese.

I've had this recipe in my "food tv" recipe box since seeing Tyler's episode. This dish has all the flavors that I had anticipated and more. I used the fresh bosc pear halves (but cored along with gorgonzala cheese. It's definitely a keeper. Tyler, THANKS!!!

I love the combination of blue cheese, pears and walnuts (especially with a good pale ale or claret, and this is a great twist. I agree the pears should be as close to ripe as possible and I find Bosc to be the best. Stilton is my preference, but any good quality blue cheese would be fine. What a fine alternative to sweet desserts and all that sugar. Fruit and cheese plates should be offered more as an alternative. I'll make this again and again.

I love Tyler's recipes and based on the reviews, I tried this.
Warning, you must love blue cheese to appreciate this combination of complex flavors.
I guess my family detests blue cheese because we couldn't down these pears.
Obviously, this is our particular taste buds dilema because the reviews were great on this recipe.

this was quite different for us but after the first couple of timid bites we decided it was great. Next time I think I might try crushed red chili oil to give it extra kick but we did enjoy it as is.

Just got the recipe today. I'm going to do this dish at my mom's house when I visit in Phoenix. We have a lot of people coming. I'll update when I get back. Can't wait!
