I just cooked these for Thanksgiving and will be serving them tonight (hopefully they reheat ok-- I think they will. I tried a bit and they're really good, just needed a bit more salt. I did have to increase the cooking time a lot, but I was also doing two pans at once. Great recipe for those who aren't into the mashed type with marshmallows. And to answer the question-- it's always the dark orange ones, not the yellow. The orange are labeled yams in the store, but that's wrong. The yellow ones are starchy and gross.

I actually have a question for any of you that have made this recipe. It is made with sweet potatos, not yams, correct? the yellow ones not the orange yams.
I would like to make it but I want to make sure I get it right, if anyone happens to have a chance to confirm I would appreciate it.

Did not like this at all. Glad I tried this before putting it on my Thanksgiving table - it would have been an embarassment. Sorry Tyler I usually love your recipes.

Love sweet potatoes and this is a quick, easy, delicious way to serve them. Salt and pepper on the potatoes, and added some ancho chili to the honey/cinnamon concoction for a little added kick. Delicious!

Tried this side dish with Arti's "I Aint Chicken Chicken" last night, I know this says Roasted sweet potatoes with honey butter, but where is the butter? anyways, i did add a little cinnamon/sugar over the top of these and they came out wonderful, they were gone in a matter of mins. Will make this side dish again!

Ever since I found this recipe, this is the only way that I continue to make roasted sweet potatoes. My husband, family, and friends always compliment the potatoes. The potatoes cook all the way through until tender and a little crispy. The honey is AWESOME and it's a healthy recipe without actually having to add butter!!!!I don't use exact measurements. I just sprinke the potatoes with EVOO, honey, some cinnamon, salt and pepper and throw it in the oven.

I saw the show earlier in the week and even though I am not a big sweet potato fan, decided to give this recipe a try.
The prep time is minimal and the cooking time is nearly as short. The potatoes came out a bit hard at first, but with a few more minutes they were perfect. The taste was fantastic and I was watching with amazement as my wife kept eating these tasty tidbits, spoonful after spoonful :

I wanted to make sweet potatoes in a hurry but I have stopped using my microwave after reading how bad it is for you.
I went on line and looked at few recipes.
I will have to say HOLY MACKEREL!! [wanted to use another word!]
Not only is this quick, it's DELICIOUS!!!
I will be incorporating this into my Thanksgiving feast and throughout the year too.
    Thanks Tyler. Another keeper. Peace...

The fat content of these can be reduced by simply cutting down on the amount of oil substantially. Simply toss the sweet potato cubes in a bowl with just a couple of tablespoons (if that of the oil (or use half oil and half melted butter and the other ingredients, then turn them out in a single layer on the roasting pan and away you go. Also, don't laugh...OK go ahead and laugh if you want to but try it anyway...a little ground Aleppo pepper instead of the cinammon is a nice partner for the sweet potatoes. Seriously. We eat a lot of sweet potatoes all year long and this is a very simple way to make them "fast food" for dinner.
