This all had a good flavor but there is too much liquid in the recipe. The mashed potatoes on top were fantastic (I added my own touches to them though, but they just sank right into my beef mixture. It was kind of like beef stew with mashed potatoes in it. If you try this one I recommend cutting the amount of liquid somewhere. Again though, it does have a good overall flavor.

My BF's mom made this with some changes and it was excellent! I attempted to recreate and it turned out pretty good, too. I omitted veggies on a string and carmelized mushroom, onion, and garlic and added to beef mixture. The other reviewers said it was too runny so I used just a little over a cup of beef broth instead of two cups. Also went easy on the peas and carrots and topped with fresh grated layer of parmesan cheese. YUM!

this recipe is awesome. don't judge a recipe by it's cover; the mashed potatoes makes this meal, "fit for a king!"
