This is easy to make and was a sensation at the potluck I took it to. I've tried another recipe but Tyler's is the best. I'll stick with his.

This is an easy to make pie that can be enjoyed year round.

This is one of the best wet bottom shoo fly pies I have ever tasted. As a Pennsylvania boy I ought to know!!!

I really enjoyed this pie!, the flavor was excellent! I'd never had Shoo-fly pie before so I used half molasses and half Karo syrup to mellow the flavor. This is an extremely easy pie to make. I think I would put more than half of the crumb in the bottom of the pie next time, it was a little too runny and the crust on top was too 'floury.' I brushed egg white on the edge of the pie and sprinkled with brown sugar, came out beautiful!

Tyler - I've been making this recipe for a couple years now and love it!! I live in PA and it's one of the best shoo-fly pies out there. Nice and moist unlike the dry pies you get from Lancaster county. Which by-the-way, to some of the other voters, there are two kinds of shoo-fly pie - a dry shoo-fly pie and a wet shoo-fly pie. This happens to be a wet shoo-fly pie.

I am 55 years old. I have always wondered what shoo-fly pie was and now I know. I will add this one to my recipe box and try it later.

Tyler - I'm sorry but your Shoo-Fly pie did not make the grade. My church makes shoo-fly pies as a fund raiser, we make the best shoo-fly pies in Berks County PA. The goo on the bottom of the pie should not run like yours did. You should mix part of the crumb mixture with the molasses mixture. Want a lesson on making real shoo-fly pies? contact me, I will take you to my church in March for a lesson.

No stars (I had to pick one to post this comment - what a travesty! That was not shoofly pie from the Penna Dutch. Molasses, not Karo. Crisco or vegetable shortening, not butter. And the crumbs go on the top, not bottom-ever! And finally, NO EGG. Been making my grandmother's receipe for decades and it's never failed. Try again!

I never made a shoo fly pie and wanted to try something new for the holidays... well make sure you put the whiped cream on or it is hard to even take a 2nd taste. After 2 sets of guests tried this - I am ready to throw a PIE OUT! Oh well, it was worth a try.

I'm not a huge fan of these pies but I have to admit-this was fantastic! I used Ole Barrel Syrup which gave it a perfect "molasses" flavor. No offense here but if it did not turn out right you did something wrong-keep trying! And yes, I'm from PA!
