My boyfriend and I are both from the south, and we never order collard greens in restaurants here because they're usually so disappointing. I've never tried to make them before, but I had a craving for them and gave this recipe a try. So glad I did! I used a little less liquid than the recipe calls for, and they turned out great. I was really impressed! Thanks Tyler!

I made these with fresh greens (spinach and turnip instead of collard from my grandpa's garden. I researched a recipe that looked tasty because I've never had greens before, much less made them! I didn't want my grapndparents' greens to go to waste so I decided to make this recipe for the family Christmas party. They were a huge hit! I shared the recipe with all my family members and we are having more greens for New Years. Thanks Tyler Florence for a simple recipe with a huge depth of flavor!

I WISH I could give these greens a 10!! I first made them 3 years ago on Christmas and now for any major holiday my family says they are an absolute MUST! They get better and better the next couple of days as leftovers too...yummy yummy YUM!!!

I can not tell you how many compliments I recieved on this recipe. I had a Thanksgiving party for all of my friends, everybody brought something, the dinner was a hit. I made three things, the turkey, these collard greens with ham, and a dessert. If I tell you that the MEN all went back for seconds and thirds and honestly at moments hovering over the pot! I wouldn't have believed it myself except that my own boyfriend of 3 years, who has only politely eaten any vegetable in his life and mostly fed them to his dog, not only ate them, loved them.
Crazy and Amazing! Thanks Food Network. Thanks Tyler. You made my year!

I have looked for a long time for a collard green recipe and have tried many.I was looking for one that tasted like "real southern" flavor, the kind that seems like they cooked all day.Well this is it! I made these last night and the whole family loved them.Thank you Tyler Florence!
