Just finished eating this dish and my wife and I loved it . I followed the recipe exactly except I used three Asian birds eye chilies to add a little heat. This wash the best lamb curry I've ever had. Great recipe!

I'm not sure I got it all correct, but the end product was decent. Not so similar to the Indian flavors I am used to from local restaurants, but not unpleasant either. I didn't have any fresh red chilli, so I used a green / serrano instead. It wasn't hot enough for my tastes, so I added a 1/4 teaspoon of ground red cayenne pepper and that set the heat level at just about perfect for me.
Agree with other reviewers to cut the cloves in half.

I really loved this recipe. I have served it to several people who also enjoyed it. It takes some work but i really enjoyed the outcome.

We were terribly disappointed. I put a lot of money and time into making this. I went to an authentic Indian grocery store and followed the recipe to the tee. It was bland, tasteless. Since it makes such a big dish, I'm trying to salvage what is left. I'm adding loads of powdered spices and reheating it. I hope I can make it palatable so I don't have to throw it out. Next I'm removing the recipe from my recipe box!

What a great dish. Full of flavor and easy to make. The tomatoes give it good balance. One suggestion is instead of cooking on the stove top, I put it in the oven at 325F for 1 1/2 hour. The meat is much more tender because you are braising.

Very easy to make and nice authentic flavor. A real crowd pleaser. Very simple way to get into Indian Cooking, but cut the cloves by 1/2!

I am a big fan of curry and make it home anytime Im craving it. Tyler's recipe begins with a homemade curry powder and it made all the difference. You will never look at curry the same again. I was missing the cardoman but even with all the other spices mixed together it made for "scent"sational improvement to plain old curry powder. Easy to make and packed with aromatic flavors. Im getting hungry just thinking about this!!

I tried it with half the spice measurements as noted in previous reviews and my curry turned out tasteless! I think the measurements are correct in this recipe. The aroma is huge, but there's no heat. I'm disappointed.
