OK...how do you take 3 lbs of meat and make only 10 meatball and expect them to
cook evenly! Ended up throwing most of it out and could not bear to eat even one. My husband
was kind and said they weren't too bad.
I too am a Tyler Florence fan. This is in his cookbook and I expect this was missed by the
    editors.

Was not a fan of the meatballs and took much longer to cook than anticipated. Ended up eating the spaghetti and pomodoro sauce alone, cleaning up and then finally the meatballs were finished. Not the best meatball recipe but the pomodoro sauce was great.

Tho this recipe is absolutly amazing the way it is, i had to tweek it a bit due to the fact that i am trying to cut back on red meat. So, here is what i did, and please believe me it's really great. I just made a few subtitutions but used the same measurements. Ground Chicken, breakfast turkey, and whole wheat bread & pasta. Meatballs were so tender and juicy i was shocked that it turned out so well. Thanks Tyler for the amazing techniques.

OMG!! that was the best recipe ever!! I used generic crushed tomatoes inspead of the recommended tomatoes and it was delicious. Next time I will try mixing the meat with spicy italian sausage too. I love the sauce, it was simple and easy to make. I actually made focaccia bread to go with it... I was in heaven all day. Thank you Tyler Florence!!

This recepide is FANTASTIC!! This recipe is perfect for a dinner party b/c you can make your meatballs and sauce in advance and just throw it in the oven when your guests arrive. I kept things simple by 86'ing the pork and kept it all 80/20 beef and I used crushed tomatoes with italian herbs instead. I added a little sugar to the sauce and a bit more italian herbs and wa - la it was a wonderful dinner....Thank you Tyler!

I have tried this meal twice, but changed the pork to Italian ground turkey with the lean ground beef, and I also tried diifferent tomatoes, it came out great, Tyler my hat goes off to you for this one, it was a hit for me and my son and a neighbor.

Made this meal yesterday. It was awful. I am Italian and have been making homemade meatballs and sauce for years. The sauce was a basic tomato sauce that did not require two $2.99 cans of San Marzano tomatoes. Any brand would have been just fine. There was way too much ground pork in the meatballs. They were so loose and once cooked had a very "porky" texture/taste. I really thought they had potential, but they were not good at all. Definitely not enough seasoning/garlic. I followed the directions to the letter and this meal was just not good. This is not the first Tyler Florence recipe I have tried and did not like. Will definitely stick to Ina and Giada!

Made this meal last night. It was so delicious! I didn't have white bread so I used potato bread. You can also use potato flakes to substitute for bread and the meatballs won't dry out( a tip my grandmother gave me. I couldn't find the canned tomatoes suggested so I used a quality crushed tomato sauce and added the basil at the beginning and extra garlic and it had a lot of flavor. My husband said it was the best spaghetti he'd ever had and requested it again for dinner tonight. Overall, great recipe and will make again.
