When I was growing up, our city had an Otto Grunski Polish Festival every year. I think they said he invented the bicycle, go figure. Regardless, these taste like the Galumpkis that we got from Wanserski's market. Nostalgic & tasty. Good for Tyler..

I've tried numerous recipies on this site - most really good, some not so, but this is hands down the worst.
I followed the recipe to a 'T' and there is absolutely no flavor here at all - not in the sauce or the filling. This is nothing more than nutricional filler and it barely qualifies as that. A total waste of time and ingredients. I can only hope that there is a difference between what Tyler really made and the posted recipe as I know he's a better chef that what's reflected in the posted recipe.

I agree with the other reviewers that the sauce is not worth the time. When I make these again, I will save a pot and use some bottled sauce. I doctored my rice up a bit by cooking it with chicken stock on the stovetop. All in all, this meal turned out to be pretty good!

Man this was an AMAZING recipe, even better than the one my grandma used to make. Leftovers were fabulous the next day! My picky husband who hates cabbage went back for thirds.

I used the sweet and sour sauce in the meat mixture instead of the tomato paste. I also used White Wine Vinegar with Tarragon. This made all the difference. Also in the after blanching the leaves I oiled the pan first then lined the pan with leaves. No burn! For the top layer more blanched leaves! The flavors just burst from the sauce. Unbelievably great recipe. Better than Grandma's Galumpkis!

I happened to be missing some of the ingredients for the filling that my mom's recipe calls for (we are a VERY Polish family! so I looked online for a similiar recipe and decided to use this one. I easily substituted Tyler's ingredients for the meat/rice mixture and couldn't believe how close the final product was to the one I grew up eating. This is a great recipe...for all those who say this recipe stinks, they probably have never really had the real thing before. And honestly people, even if you change a few things around, the recipe is still a good one...cooking is about experimenting! I used ground turkey instead of beef and it was excellent. My kids went back for thirds!

This recipe is really out of this world. Everytime I make this dish everyone rants and raves on how delicious it is and I never have any left overs. So that is saying something. I do like my food with a kick, so I add red pepper flake to my sauce. Yummy! I think I will make these tommorrow.....

While I didn't include the wine, I did think the results were bland. On reheating the leftovers, I did add a splash or two of balsamic vinaigrette and it made alll the difference that I don't think I would have received by using the wine.

Best ones I've ever eaten. Easy to make too. May want to put a little water or broth in the bottom of the casserole pan as well as the leaves before baking. The cabbage came out a hair dry but the filling was incredibly moist and very delicious. As always, another winner from Tyler. Will definitely make again.

These were very good but I had Italian sausage on hand and substituted it for the pork. I also doubled the tomato sauce as my family likes alot of sauce. I also spiced it up a bit more but the sausage helped also.
