I made these for Thanksgiving with my family then Christmas with my husband's family last year and this year they are all demanding them again! Because I only have 1 oven, I baked the sweet potatoes the night before and put them in the fridge over night. Then I put them on the counter for a couple hours to get them close to room temp before stuffing and baking them again. They came out perfectly both times. I can't tell you enough how good these are!!!

I have been making this recipe for the last 9 Thanksgiving feasts. It is delicious. I make this the day before Thanksgiving to save precious time on Turkey Day. I vary the recipe by mashing the sweet potatoes into a casserole dish and put the streusel topping, minus the marshmallows, on top on Wednesday. Then, on Thanksgiving, I put the casserole into the oven for 20 minutes and just before serving, I put the marshmallows on it and put it under the broiler until golden brown. DELICIOUS!

    Hey there,

I wanted to test this recipe before using it for our Thanksgiving. Therefore, I have made this recipe twice this month. Each time the recipe was delicious. These 'Sweet Potatoes' will be a huge hit at our Thanksgiving get together. I can not wait to serve them.

NOTE: I didn't mix the mini marshmallows into the topping, but I did top each potato's pecan mixture with about five mini marshmallows. They became crisp and golden, which added an additional texture to the recipe.

Thanks Tyler, "You are the BEST."

This was a big hit @ last years Thanksgiving " I personally don't like yam's/sweet potatoes but all my family members who do nearly fought for the last one. My only issue was how time consuming it was, while trying to make a couple other dishes @ the same time.

I have cooked these twice and they are GREAT! Of course, I added extra pecans because there can never be too many pecans for everyone in my household.

We made this year (2010 for Thanksgiving & Christmas. We used gingerbread marshmellows instead of mini which was excellent! My three kids loved it! This going to become a tradition in our family. If you have a potato bag that works in the microwave, I recommand using it. It freed up our oven and we just put the potatoes in the oven when we were ready to cook the toppings.
