This was terrific. I usually make a candied sweet potatoe souffle with crushed pineapple, so I just added some pineapple to the sweet potatoe (mixed in a bit then stuff with the streusel. It was fabulous. I agree that half a potatoe is the right portion at Thanksgiving.

To the people who are commenting it was too sweet...you do know you can just tweak it so it is to your liking I mean that is what cooking is all about. I use alot less brown sugar and I add a little nutmeg also.Make it your own this is a fab recipe with a little help. Happy Thanksgiving

Awesome! I make these every year and they are always a hit. I love the classic casserole but never feel like there is enough of the pecans, brown sugar and marsh's to every bite. You must like sweet though to enjoy fully! 1/2 a potato is enough for anyone and leftovers are fantastic.

Way too sweet. Everyone, except me, hated them. Will never make it again. It looks rustic and fun, but turned out sloppy and everyone wondered what it was suppose to be. I am usually a big fan of food net work recipes, but this one sucks.

Maybe you might need a trial run to get the presentation just right. I did run tonight and have a better idea what happens to the marshmellows and streusel once backed. Didn't spread the yam to each side enough but did make sure to squeeze the potato once the streusel was in so that there was orange visible.

Better yet - a former reviewer mentioned adding pineapple. The juice of the diced pineapple was a perfect texture contrast to the yam and the two tasted blended well. Some of the pecans were extra toasted which added a surprising smokey crunch.

I find it to be the perfect one-of-a-kind dish that would WOW, as an amateur or an expert cook!

Really, really good. My family protests marshmallows on the sweet potatoes every year, so this was a great way for me to get my marshmallows and make something else for the others!!

I made this last year and everyone went wild. It is so good that they all said it should have been served as dessert! Now it's a permanent menu item for Thanksgiving. I had people coming to this years dinner calling to make SURE I was making these! Thanks Tyler for easing up PART of my Thanksgiving fare! ♥
