This is the first itme I've made a Bolognese and would have to say the flavor was very good. It has a better flavor than say compared to CPK's Bolognese. I saw the show and followed the instructions to the "T." The only problem I encountered was the sauce never quite thicked as much as I thought it should have. I even simmered an hour longer but that only helped marginally. It wasn't necessarily watery/runny but it wasn't as thick as say traditional marinara or alfredo sauce. That said, the flavor more than makes up for any difficiencies in this sauces texture. It was suggested to me to use a small amount of tomatoe paste next time. I would rate this recipe as a recommend and a repeat.

I have tried a few bolognese recipes but this is my favorite. The ingredient list may seem a little long at first but don't let that stop you from trying this recipe! By the end, you cannot tell there are 3 types of meats with carrots and celery, it all comes together to make an amazing sauce. Try this is you are tired of regular speghetti sauce! You won't be disappointed.

This is the best bolognese sauce I have run across. I used Merlot for the wine and it was perfect in it. My husband was crazy about it. It makes a lot, so I froze half of it for another meal since there is just the two of us. I served it over spaghetti since my husband doesn't care for "different" pasta shapes. (Who knows? It was great!!!!!
