I read the reviews that were available and was reluctant to try these, but I have to say....YUM!!! I did cut down the baking soda and powder to 1/2 tbsp and added some garlic powder and paprika to spice it up a bit. I also did not remove the thin membrane layer, but the flour and batter stayed put just fine.I did not find the rice flour to be the least bit gritty. The rings came out light and crispy and just plain delicious. My family loved them. PS....I used the batter o0n some fried fish and it was amazingly good!

We did not enjoy this recipe, the batter was not flavor and did not have a tempura-like texture. I do not recommend.

Saw Tylers show when he prepared them. I first read the reviews and was somewhat skeptical. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I made a couple of minor adjustments to the recipe. My fiancee and I absolutely loved them. Excellent taste, light and crispy. This recipe is a keeper!!!

BAKING SODA/POWDER AMOUNTS MUST BE INCORRECT!! FIRST BATCH I MADE WAS AWFUL. :-(
ADJUSTED TO ONE TEASPOON EACH AND IT WAS GREAT!
    BEST BATTER I'VE EVER USED.
    PLEASE CORRECT RECIPE AMOUNTS.

Batter did not stick to the onions and it was not flavorful. Sorry Tyler!

I'm sure this recipe is wrong! Should be 1 TEASPOON not 1 Tablespoon of baking soda! Does Tyler know this ?

My 8 year old nephew (who is learning to cook and I made this together for 10 ppl tonight, and it was a big hit! Don't worry about the skin on the onions - they still fried nicely. Season them well with salt when they come out of the oil, and all is fine! I do some catereing, and these were great!
