This recipe is completely missing the cooking instructions, but I followed the ones from the show and got the recipe to work, but it was way too salty for a Teriyaki. It was also very thin even after I let it simmer for a long time.
I ended up adding some corn starch and water and let that both boil and simmer for a while. That did the trick of thickening it up a bit, but this recipe really needs some more sugar.
I recommend adding some additional brown sugar to overcome the bitterness of the grapefruit juice and the saltyness of the soy sauce. I would double the brown sugar called for and back off on the grapefruit juice a bit.
If you are using this as a marinade, I wouldn't add the corn starch and water, but if you want to coat the chicken with a little more substantial sauce, I would thicken this up.

I made this for my family - with a few changes. I cooked the sauce as Tyler did on the show, and after I tossed the chicken in the sauce I put it under the broiler for a few minutes. WOW! I served the chicken with white rice with the sauce on it. My family ate all the chicken and most of the rice. I was planning on left-overs. Next time I'll make more!
