We made this for our mothers one Sunday and although it took a while, it was the best bbq chicken one could ask for. The bbq sauce was the real star, I don't think I'll be able to use the bottled stuff anymore. The taste of the sauce was fantastic and everyone was looking for more to add to the chicken, not because it was needed it but because it was so addicting. Also, the chicken was extremely moist and juicy, this is a very good way to cook chicken. This is my go to summer bbq recipe, it you make this you will look like a rock star!

I made this chicken recipe March 27, 2010 and it was absolutely wonderful. The only thing that took time was to brine the chicken. I did that early that morning and it was ready when I got ready. The barbecue sauce takes very little time to prepare. Like others, I don't plan to buy bottle BBQ again. This one takes little time and is absolutely wonderful. I will also always brine my poultry. I used breast (bone in and it was so moist and delicious. My husband really raved about it too. I also had cooked earlier in the week a boston butt in the crock pot so I shredded the meat and made more sauce the next day to put over it. It was absolutely fantastic too. I really enjoy watching Tyler's show because you can tell he really enjoys cooking and so do I (and eating. I will certainly try more of his recipes.

Cut the amount of cumin called for in half. I also added 1/3 more brown sugar, and two tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce. Otherwise, this is really good BBQ chicken. I let the chicken cook about ten minutes longer too, to make sure it's really done since it's dark meat with bones in it. This also allows you to baste it a third time. The brining will keep it from drying out.

Loved this recipe!! Tyler is right..totally worth making your own bbq sauce! I didn't have ketchup so I used tomato sauce instead, but it still came out great! Brining the chicken kept it so moist and tasty too. Definitely a keeper recipe!!

This was absolutely delicious. It required a few extra steps, and a little bit more time, but was well worth it. So tender, moist, and tasty. Will make this one again. Thanks Tyler.

I can't believe I made something that taste's so good!! It tastes like a real pro in the kitchen made it. unbelievable!!!! Thank you Tyler I covet this recipe I just can't share it with my girl friends. The chicken was off the chain ( VERY GOOD as well just a perfect meal WOW!!!
