This recipe is hands down the best homemade, child friendly, tastiest BBQ I have ever tasted. I do not like BBQ chicken and do not ever eat it or make it in my home because of dryness, spicy flavor... on and on I just don't like it...... Until now. I will continue to make this recipe and it is a family hit in this household!

This was the MOST DELICIOUS bbq sauce I have EVER had. My mother inlaw said it was the best bbq chicken she has ever tasted. The chicken was so moist it fell right off the bone. Sauce is the perfect balance of sweet, tangy and spice. I could eat it by the spoonful!!

This truly is the ultimate. Am a gourmet experienced cook and I have never made a better BBQ chicken. This sauce would be FANTSTIC on ribs. Followed recipe to a tee. Would NOT change a thing. Can't even find the words to describe the dliciosity (yes I made that word up!

Great sauce! I'm an experienced griller, so I grilled three whole chickens on the grill using a triple batch of this recipe. The chicken was moist, and I got quite a few "best sauce ever!" claims from people who've had a lot of barbecue. This receipe is now a staple in my BBQ toolbox.

O my! Are you kidding me? How good is this sauce? I could just eat it out of the bowl. The chicken was tender and moist. We followed directions pretty much. We used a combo of chicken legs with bone in and boneless chicken breasts as my husband doesn't like dark meat. When the bacon was done cooking I chopped it and added to the sauce. I can honestly say that this is the best barbecue chicken I ever tried! I will definitely try this sauce with ribs next time! I haven't tried many of Tyler's recipes but this one is such a huge hit! Thanks Tyler!

Solid recipe. I modified the cooking process a bit and decided to brine it, sprinkle a little bit of some homemade rub on it, and then smoke it on my Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker and it came out wonderful. It might have been the best BBQ chicken I've made on the WSM to date. The brine provides flavor and moisture without being too salty and the sauce is very tasty. The sauce did make a lot though, next time I make this I might cut it in half as I have a whole bowl full of leftover sauce. One other modification I made was to tie the bacon around the thyme without using kitchen twine (just twisted it and knotted it so it stayed secure and then once I added the onion / garlic, I removed the bacon/thyme and chopped it up and then returned it to the pan.

This was way better than any BBQ sauce from a jar and did not take long to make. I substituted balsamic vinegar for red wine vinegar which give a deeper color.
