This was way better than any BBQ sauce from a jar and did not take long to make. I substituted balsamic vinegar for red wine vinegar which give a deeper color.

The brine made the chicken tender and moist, make sure you don't skip that very important step! I find most BBQ sauce recipes are always a little off so I was skeptical of this one. I didn't have any bacon so I left it out and it was still one of the best BBQ sauces i've ever eaten! I found the setting up of the grill for only 10 mins of cooking to be extra work than needed, next time I will probably put it straight in the oven! This is a great BBQ chicken recipe and I will continue to use it!

This was a wonderful recipe, it's the first time I ever tried to brine anything. I will definitely do this with all poultry I make from now on. The only change I made was to the bbq sauce, as I had no bacon. Loved that you put it in the oven toward the end and add the sauce at that point. No burnt tasting sauce, no burnt chicken. It's amazing!

Tasty! The Chicken was moist & the sauce had the right amount of smokey flavor. Don't skip the brine! I follwed the recipe exactly. I was concerned that the amount of sauce would not be enough. I had eight legs and thighs- it was definately enough for basting. I reserved only 1 cup for serving. The best part was finishing this in the oven. It freed the grill for the Burgers and Dogs and Veges, while the coals were still hot. Would definately make again.
