I thought this recipe was very good, but probably wouldn't consider it "the ultimate".

Next time I think I would leave out the orange zest and user a drier wine (used a Merlot that was too sweet - my fault, not Tyler's!. Otherwise, really liked the consistency of the sauce and the tenderness of the beef.

I was itching to make this recipe after watching the show and was glad that I did. It tasted as good as it looked. I didn't have ground cloves so that was omitted and I substituted diced red onions for pearl onions but despite that, the dish turned out fabulous. It's definitely not your average Lipton soup mix type stew. This is restaurant quality stuff that requires a few more steps and ingredients but the final result is worth it. It had a very deep, bold and rich flavor that my whole family enjoyed, even the kids. The horseradish sauce was great and gave it a creamier taste. Overall a great recipe that you should try at least once.

I tried this recipe shortly after viewing it on TV. My family thoroughly enjoyed it. I used Madiera wine and Shiitaki mushrooms instead, however. I didn't have an orange handy for the zest so I used a teaspoon of orange marmalade. Everything else I did.

My first time cooking beef stew. It was a success. I omit orange/ clove and turn out still extremly yummy. Keeper and will make it again.

I followed the recipe and it came out too liquidy. The meat was really tender, but it just didn't taste very good. I also had to add cornstarch to thicken it b/c it just wouldn't thicken. I love Tyler and I think he's hot, but this kind of sucked.

This is a perfectly wonderful recipe ruined with the orange and clove. I also think the sauce needs to be thickened a little at the end.

Well, I didn't try this receipe, yet. But, I just had to say something about Tyler. I will say that I will, try the whole dinner that aired, sometimes soon, but I will have to use turkey, I don't eat red meat. But, no matter what I fix that Tyler has made such as the "Hong Kong Salmon Cakes" to "Shrimp Scampi" to his fried "Calamari Fritti" you bet you'll have a WINNER. Tyler is the best, what can I say!

This was oh so good. I made the entire menu. I used a different wine - Yellow Tail Cabernet/Merlot mix, and used quartered onions because my local store doesn't carry frozen pearls. It was delicious. Thanks, Tyler.
