This was absolutely superdelicious!! Very hearty meal. I left out the orange zest and cloves because I didn't have any on hand. Thank you Tyler!!

This beef stew was sensational! I loved it. I loved how those flavors came together. Lots of ingredients but it pays off. MMMmmm!!

That horseradish sour cream is really unique and so tasty on top of the soup. It went soooo good with toasted peasant bread. Yum!

We think this stew proudly lives up to its name. Frozen corn was added along with the frozen peas. We used tenderized stew meat instead of chuck. It was served with toasted sliced garlicky sourdough bread and the horseradish sauce. A Barefoot Cabernet to drink. The meal had a perfect balance of flavors. We will prepare it again!

My family said it was the best stew they'd ever eaten. I used a cut, sweet onion and left out the peas due to preference. Delicious!

I love this stew. However, I want to bring back some suggestions made by people early last year that I think really make this stew fantastic. First, I grate the peel 1/2 an orange instead of adding it as zest. I just leave it in the stew and think it adds wonderful flavor..I'm not sure why so many others find it over-powering. I think it adds just the right touch of "mystery ingredient". Second, I added about a tablespoon plus of tomato past - it mellowed out some of the wine and orange flavor while still allowing both of these ingredients to shine. LOVE IT.

Best beef stew ever! I made the recipe almost exactly per the recipe. I used one fresh sweet onion cut in half instead of frozen, as I don't like frozen onions. The orange peel, cloves, and horseradish cream really elevate this to the sublime. I use a bottom shelf burgundy, which is truly great in this stew. This is now our family's go-to recipe for beef stew.

I have never been a fan of beef stew and have never made it as an adult and I am 53. My boyfriend likes stew so I made it for him. You see my rating, we LOVED it!! My boyfriend couldn't see the cloves and zest in stew so I left them out. I used 1/2 bottle of wine and more stock. I also used a bag of fresh onions instead of frozen. I used fingerling potatoes since I keep those on hand. I am making it again today. Thanks Tyler!!

Made it last night... came out great, love the sour cream sauce...... I couldn't find thyme so i got rosemary .... and i forgot to buy oranges so i used a lemon.... came out great... the only ingredient i couldn't taste was the pear onions.... i personally would of browned them right before de-glazing the pan with the wine.... My husband and I loved it though.... it gave us plenty left overs... I bet its better the next day....

We are only two,so I cut a roast in half. Used a Cab. No mushrooms, so I added potatoes. Awesome beef stew. Highly recommended - make adjustments as needed - it should be just fine. I agree with most of the 5-star comments.
