This was my first time ever cooking an apple pie and I must say I definitely picked the right one. I made it for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it. So, now I'm making it for my inlaws Christmas party.

This recipe is a bit hard - the caramel sauce is advanced. But the outcome is worth it! This creates a wonderful pie that is not too sweet or saucy. The caramel sacue is rich and is a great compliment. The sauce also makes the crust unbelievable. The best apple pie I have made!

Make it a day ahead so all the flavors will combine to an amazing flavored pie.

Tyler's recipes have generally been good to me. This one wasn't. As others mentioned, the pie was very runny... maybe because he never tells you to dry (towel off the apples after they've been sitting in water.

As for the crust, two eggs just dumped into the crust led my pie to have little flecks of yellow... it didn't blend well. Three tablespoons of water was not nearly enough for the dough to come together... I needed 2 to 3 times that amount. And roll the crust pretty thin... following the directions, my crust was still half an inch thick, which did not cook well enough in the specified time.

This was such an amazing recipe!! Baking a pie from scratch is always a little bit intimidating but this recipe just makes you want to bake pies all the time.....in fact I have made a few different pies with this crust recipe and they have all been crowd pleasers to say the least.

I've tried many apple pie recipes but this one I've got to rate superbly. Its easy to make, tastes great and comes out perfectly. No hidden tactics. Comes exactly like in the show.

I made this pie and it was the first apple pie that I had made. It turned out great, my wife and friends loved it.
