First, this is a Bolognese sauce, if you like your lasagna more tomatoey, move on.

The prep time on this recipe is wrong; it was about 4 hours start to eating.

The recipe instructions are not accurate. I used a 9x13x4 pan and the proportions seem correct, except for the modifications I mention below which were for personal preference only. I did a layer of noodles on the bottom followed by four layers of ricotta, sauce, and mozzarella with a final topping of noodles, sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan. I had no sauce leftover and only a few noodles.

Servings: I’m guessing 15-20 adult servings.

What I changed: I doubled the mozzarella. I reduced the cinnamon to ¼ teaspoon. I increased the garlic to 1 head. Since I had leftover herbs I minced some up and added to the ricotta mixture.

If I was to make this again, I would triple the mozzarella, we like our lasagna cheesy. I would brown the meat in batches and drain off some of the fat. I would increase the garlic to two heads.

This was great. Pretty easy and very delicious. We made this to recipe with the exception of using smoked mozzarella rather than plain.

I watched Tyler make this and he used a rather tall pan that allowed for many layers. We didn't have a pan as deep as his was, so we made 2 shallower lasagnas.

    The leftovers were great! Recommended!

This is actually a good recipe! I made it for my first Christmas meal for 6 people. Definitely had left over meat and ricotta. The cinnamon...I was skeptical about because...well...it's cinnamon. My instincts told me not put a whole teaspoon but I forgot and did it anyway. The taste does take over in the meat. It's all you can taste when you're testing the meat. However, when you cook the lasagna...it's not noticeable at all. So overall I was pleased because my picky family members didn't say anything. Plus, even though cinnamon is slightly sweet, it's a healthier alternative to the loads of sugar Ragu and Prego put in their sauce.

One pound of pasta would probably be enough (I had about half or more leftover. I also had a lot of everything left over so i was able to make a half lasagna for later. I fed 6 adults with about half of the regular lasagna (not including the extra half lasagna so this recipe would be great for a large group.

This recipe is way too much for 8 people, especially if that 8 includes children. Definitely, half the meat, sausage and lasagne noodles, if its not for a dinner party. I omitted the cinnamon, I couldn't get around this flavor. Keep the herbs, S&P, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese according to the recipe. If you keep to the recipe you will need two 9x13 dish to fit it all in. Half the ricotta cheese, made a mistake to keep it according to the recipe called and it was way too much. I used jar sauce (with basil added 2 heaped teaspoon of tomato puree and the sauce came out perfect. Great Lasagna if not for all this twicking.
This was my second attempt to make Lasagna and the first time I used Paula Deen's Ol' Meats Lasagna' and I loved her recipe. So if not for prior experience i think this would have gone all wrong.

I substituted nutmeg for the cinnamon and added more garlic, but only because I'm a garlic fiend. Came out great!!

THE BEST lasagne I have ever made. I even purchased the baking dish show on the show. Tyler has outdone himself. This is my go to recipe for lasagne. The flavors blend, don't change a thing or you will ruin it. The flavors marry perfectly.

DON'T use the cinnamon, it's cloying and that's all you can taste, otherwise ok recipe.

There are a lot of ingredients, you'll have many dirty dishes to clean, and it takes a long time to prepare, but if you put some love into the dish, the lasagna will definitely love you back!
This delicious version is my favorite out of the different lasagna recipes I've tried, but I certainly recommend halving all of the ingredients in order to make one normal sized lasagna.

I usually really like Tyler's recipes, but this one missed the mark. Like him, I enjoy a lasagna bolognese with a layer of ricotta cheese, but this bolognese was just ho-hum. It was easier than most lasagna bolognese recipes, however. The best large, full blown, knock you out of the park lasagna recipe is Emeril's Manly Man Lasagna. It is significantly harder, but well worth it if you are feeding a large army. If you do try it, do not omit the chicken livers in the bolognese. Yum.
