This is the best method I've found for making big, juicy meatballs. Not up for Italian, I changed the spices to Mediterranean (lots of garlic and cumin and swapped ground lamb for the pork. It was a big hit.

This is my favorite recipe when I plan a special dinner. I use ground turkey instead of beef or pork. The meatballs are so delicate and the polenta is rich and creamy. Follow the recipe exactly for the perfect dinner. It will impress the crowd!

Tyler never disappoints, and this is no exception. These would make a great meatloaf too.

Great recipe! The meatballs were tender and delicious, and the polenta was roll your eyes back in your head creamy. I'd never even made polenta before, but it won't be the last!

This recipe is awesome as are virtually all of Tyler Florence's recipes. I did not use pine nuts in my meatballs but since I first saw his suggestion of soaking bread in milk for meatballs, I have been doing it for both meatballs and meatloaf - great technique. I also left off the tomatoes and mushrooms basically to save time. It was still a beautiful and delicious meal. My picky 8 yr. old son snarled his nose but we talked him into trying it and he cleaned his plate and asked for more! Tyler is the Ultimate.

Not only were they the best meatballs I ever have tried, it ranks as one of my top italian dishes as well. My guests raved about it. The meatballs were also great as leftovers. You must try this dish!

i made this for a dinner party, soooo good. it is a little time consuming so its not an everyday meal but well worth it for a special occasion. One time i made burgers on the grill with the mixture instead and they were fantastic.

The recipe was fairly good. Certainly not the ultimate though. The meatballs had nice flavor, and the mushrooms were a nice touch, but in the end, it didn't taste a whole lot better than any other meatball and sauce recipe. I did think the pairing with the polenta was quite nice though.

Went to my Mother's last night for Sunday dinner, and all the way there my daughter was complaining about having to eat polenta. Well, what a surprise this meal was! The polenta was exquisite, as well as the meatballs, and my daughter had seconds (as did everyone else. The whole family commented that this meal was superior to our Thanksgiving meal just a few days earlier! Mom says she followed the recipe exactly. What a winner!
