This recipe is so delicious. My bird took double the time to cook, but well worth the wait. I used dried herbs instead of fresh as that is what was on hand and it turned out superbly.

I roasted two chickens at once using this recipe. It was delicious, especially the sauce. I couldn't get all of the stuffing ingredients in the cavity, but just placed the excess around the chicken. To get extra liquid for my sauce, I squeezed the orange wedges. I served this with a spinach salad with a simple lemon, garlic vinaigrette along with a toasted orzo side dish with kalamata olives and lemon. We drank a wine called "Red" 2003 by St. Francis Winery in Sonoma County. It went perfectly with the chicken.

Though this recipe made an amazing gravy, the meat itself had surprisingly little flavor considering the ingredients involved. I would probably change the way the bird was "stuffed" on the next try.

Dark meat was too undercooked for my liking

I was a bit nervous making this, because I had never made a roast chicken before. It was delicious!! I didn't get much gravy from it though, it was pretty much all bacon fat, no good drippings. But we used a bit and made our own gravy with some chicken stock. I will definitely make this again!

Wow. I always dry out roasted chickens but this one was great. Be very careful with the cooking time with all that stuff crammed in the chicken. When I took the orange and onion out, the inside still looked raw so I had to cook it longer. Best to cut the stuff into smaller pieces and make sure it's not packed too tightly. The gravy was wonderful. I roasted some chunked sweet potatoes and apples in the pan with the chicken and let them finish cooking in the gravy. Will definitely make this again.

My family wiped this out. The flavor was great and the bacon made the chicken extra moist. Once again, Tyler's recipe hits a home run.

I saw the show on which this recipe was prepared, and decided to give it a go. It was undoubtedly one of the best birds that I've ever had and I will make this a regular in my special occasion meals rotation. Great job!!!
