I made the Ultimate Steak Sandwich yesterday evening. Overall it was good but that's only because of the substitutions that I had to make in the recipe.

Unfortunately I had to substitute two items from Tyler's recipe. The first being the foot long hoagie rolls. Had trouble finding a hoagie roll that looked delicious and not like a hot dog bun. I decided to use an italian foot long bread from the market bakery. It wasn't a good choice, the bread was too tough and big. Second, I substituted spinach for arugula in the mayonnaise and that turned out great.

This was still a good sandwich and I will make it again making sure I use a legit hoagie roll next time.

This was the ULTIMATE sandwich to take on a picnic! I wowed my date with this sandwich, he truly thought this was "store bought!" Along with a great bottle of wine and fresh strawberries in a Grand Marnier sauce, this was the ultimate lunch that fulfilled my date's gastronomic fantasies! Thanks, Tyler!

This sandwich was AWESOME!! It was the best sandwich I've ever had. We made a few changes to the recipe : we left out the arugula in the mayo, used cheddar for the cheese, and we didn't make the Fennel Slaw also we added sauteed mushrooms and onions to the sandwich. This was definitely a winner and we will be making this yummy sandwich regularly.

When I watched the episode i was not optomistic that i could make this being a novice in the kitchen, but even for me at 21 years old i made this for me and my father for dinner to go along with the big hockey game and we were not left disatisfied. The steak was crunchy and juicy at the same time, the sauce made way more than we needed but it will go to use in my household. I could not find arugala so i substituted with spinach mayonaise and everything just came out 100% perfect, the general consensus was wow thats an amazing sandwhich, Thank You Tyler.

This recipe was great, the steak wasn't tough and cheese sauce and arugula mayo went great with it! I would cut the sauce recipe in half it made way more then needed, but a definate keeper.

I saw Tyler make this and I thought it looked amazing. I went out and bought everything and made it for my family. The unanimous response was, "It was ok." When you look at the time, effort, and cost put into these sandwiches I would hope for a better repsonse than "ok". I found that the flavors just didn't mesh as well as I had hoped. I liked all the componants on their own, but together they just fell short. I really doubt that I'll follow this recipe again. Sorry Tyler.

Even I have to change arugula for green Lettuce i love the result!!! and my husband too. It was an easy recipe, and delicious. I haven't done coleslaw before, and I love the result.
The other thing different is that I used Cheddar cheese instead of Gruyere, even it was thicker I like the flavor.

Great steak sandwich! I made this for my husband who is a steak fanatic. He loved it, as did I. The only thing I'd do differently is cut the bechamel sauce in half. Labor intensive, but a keeper. I prepared this dinner for a "Guess the Food Network chef." I stumped him. However, he should have known as the recipe has Tyler written all over it.... :

This recipe is Awesome! The components are easy to find and make. This is the first time I added lemon juice to mayo and was really surprised at how good that was. The bechamel is easy to make and really good on the sammie. I would definately recommend this dish.
