Love the way he does the steak, very moist with some crunch. If you do it right. Don't forget to toast the bread!!

The way you made the steak by combining and pounding is interesting. I've never tried it before. The cheese sauce looks divine. Tyler looks a bit like my brother so I feel like I'm watching family. He cooks just the way we do in our family too. Full of flavor. I would love to see Tyler do more shows with guests. I loved his show where he'd visit people in their home and help them cook. Why not bring some of those people to him and have him do it in his kitchen? He has such a wonderful way with people, it's a shame to see it not played to.

SO made this for four of us. 1/4 of this recipe was 1328 calories, 96.6g fat. Sooo not worth it

and I am excited to try this recipe. Although, Tyler did not put the slaw on the sandwich on the show. I find this to be an issue with this website...the directions for the recipe are usually not the same as what you see on TV. Sometimes, even measurements for ingredients are off. I don't know who writes the recipes online, but they need to make sure they are written correctly...but, as far as Tyler goes...he is awesome! Lovin' him!

This is a fantastic sandwich. Using the rib-eye is a great idea, as the marbled fat really gives it a tender bite. I really love the bitterness of the arugula both in the mayo and in leaf form. I've made this twice now and both times, I've used the leftover Arugula Mayo for other sandwiches throughout the week. This sandwich does not need the slaw...and adding it only complicates the flavors. The cheese sauce is good; but I recommend adding more horseraddish.

These sandwiches turned out delicious, but it's a lot of effort and ingredients for what you get. You'll end up with far more sauce than you'll need for the sandwiches, so I recommend either cutting back on the quantities or have a plan ready for the leftover sauce. It holds up pretty well in the fridge, I used it for garlic bread a few days later.

I followed the episode in so much as I left out the slaw and put arugula on the sandwich. I made the mayo minus the arugula and I used half gruyere, half smoked gouda (no horsradish-I hate the stuff. I don't know why everyone's complaning...is slicing a raw steak really that hard?

This recipe absolutely wowed me. I don't even enjoy red meat (no really, never have usually, but the technique made the meat so tender and the fixings were amazing. I made this for my husband and some friends and we all devoured it, it was fabulous. Here's my full take:
1 The steak amount is a little on the low side, definitely round up if you are at the grocery store and have to pick between cuts
2 I loved the arugala with it - it was the perfect palate cleanser with the savory meat and cheese
3 I served the cole slaw on the side and it was a great addition, but I think it would have overpowered the dish if I were to put it on the sandwich
4 This made a LOT of cheese sauce, you could almost half the recipe and still have enough in my opinion

Will be serving this again and again! Amazing!!

This recipe was not worth the trouble. The toppings took away from the steak. i second the notion that the cheese sauce with the steak is enough. Not worth the effort. sorry Tyler...I love so many of your recipes.
