On a whim, I roasted a turkey in August! Obviously, there are leftovers so I found this recipe. After reading the review where someone complained that it was bland, I thought I'd experiment a bit. I'm an intermediate cook, all self-taught. A roux is an easy, but very versatile sauce to make. Tyler makes this easy with his instructions. What I did was to add more vegetables like bell pepper and diced celery. The thyme was perfect, I thought. I love mushrooms, so I used a LOT of them. In making the roux, I used about a tablespoon of white wine and I substituted heavy cream (forget the calories! instead of milk. I didn't have egg noodles, so I cooked some linguine to al dente. I folded in all the vegetables, turkey and pasta into a casserole dish and followed Tyler's instructions to the end.
Bottom line, is to follow the instructions on how to make a roux. If you get that right, this recipe is very versatile. Have fun with it! Delicious! I'm going to freeze half of this for a later time. Thanks Tyler. I love your reciipes, and you make cooking easy to understand.

This dish has a very subtle and light flavor... especially a nice lemony touch. I added the traditional peas which made nice color. I found it overall very healthy and quite tasty. OH, the boyfriend liked it very much too... Thanks!!

This recipe seemed a bit intimidating at first, but it was quite simple. I edited it with the use of an onion instead of a shallot and lemon juice in place of zest. I loved the flavor. My husband even had seconds!

This recipe is great! I tripled the recipe, and took it to a large potluck. I got no less than twenty compliments, and six requests for the recipe. I think that speaks for itself! Tyler's recipe is great!
